I concocted these recipes while traveling; I was not in my own kitchen, and had limited options. Lucky for you (and me) these took only a few minutes and JUST one bowl. They are an easy, casual cookie, so if you don't have measuring cups, just eyeball it; it'll still taste delicious. This is a paleo recipe and can be easily vegan if you swap out the raw honey for pure maple syrup.

Extra good news: they are grain-free, loved by toddlers too, and a great way to power you through a fun new workout in an exciting new setting!

Happy 2017!  My New Year gift to you is an AMAZING 5 minute recipe that makes a great pre or post workout treat or breakfast.  In fact, any day will start off swimmingly with these little morsels.

These berry bites of heaven are reminiscent of those strawberry shortcake popsicles from long ago. Anyone else have an insane love for those sickeningly sweet fake strawberry ice cream popsicles with a crunchy coating? Well, as a child rarely allowed desserts and ice cream, I sprinted to that neighborhood ice cream truck whenever the first rings of the truck pierced my consciousness while I was reading amongst t...

I've begun to notice a trend with running into other young mothers at the park, walking to the library, or yes, Target, the store version of the playground, where you'll inevitably see a woman wearing a newborn, messy bun in place, dark circles under her eyes, and the frantic air of someone who hasn't left her house in days and is in desperate need of validation (not that I'm speaking from experience or anything ;)  Anyway the trend: asking the question "Do you work?  Or are you a Stay-At-Home-Mom?" (SAHM, BTW).  Kudos to those who omit the cringe-worthy "just."  (Just a Stay-At-Home-Mom??)  I'...

Ugh, having food sensitivities can be a huge hassle. The good news is, it makes me extra creative in the kitchen, and these delicious creamy bars are no exception. Think creamy cookie dough atop a granola bar and that's pretty much what this is!

For a recent breakfast and snack idea, I whipped up a Maiah-safe raw healthy protein bar devoid of my many food allergies and sensitivities. And it was delicious! Whether or not you have a food allergy, you'll love this energizing recipe.

Something seemed familiar about these bars after I invented them, then it hit me: they look like those Kudos bars that I would sometimes get after soccer games as a kid, when someone else's parents would bring them as a team snack (my parents were all about the healthy stuff like orange slices and apples, of course, for which I am now thankful). Anyway, at the age of about 9 or 10, the days when team parents brought Kudos bars or goldfish crackers to the soccer games were the best.  I associate those snacks with the smell of freshly cut grass, rain and sweaty kids: spring soccer at its finest.  Anyways, I dig...

What is a brookie, you ask?  Why it is the best of both dessert worlds; a brownie and a cookie in one fabulous square.  (Or slice, or however you choose to bake it).  See my original brookie recipe HERE on my old blog.

When I first developed this recipe I was OBSESSED and I'm quite sure I delayed my postpartum weight loss a little by having it for breakfast, snack and dessert until I decided to space it out a little.  Okay I'm joking, but still, I'm proud of myself for not eating this all day, every day.  Luckily though, they are pretty healthy and super filling, and not to mention gluten-free, veg...

My Raw Hawaiian Carrot Cake is made with raw honey from Kuai and Hawaiian Gingerade (yummy ginger yerba mate drink found at my Whole Foods) to add liquid and more of a ginger kick.  You can use any honey (or agave if you are averse to using honey) and water to replace the ginger-ade if necessary.  So, it may be more appropriate to call it Raw Honey Carrot Cake, but either way, it contains veggies and tastes great and if you can find Hawaiian Gingerade near you, I highly recommend it.

I garnished my cake squares with cinnamon, though a more decadent option would be to whip...

This recipe is Part I of II.  I used these leftovers to create another wonderful creation, which I'll be sharing probably quite soon, as I can't keep my treats just to myself!  This one turned out so good, I want everyone to try it!

This luscious treat looks like cookie dough, and can be eaten with a spoon, scooped and licked like an ice cream cone, or used as a protein-packed sweet dip for fruit, or I don't know, crackers.  You can eat this however you please; I prefer chilled from the fridge with a spoon.  I feel like I'm eating ice cream, but I feel like I'm eating superfood.  It's amazing. And...

Yesterday was pretty fabulous as my neighbors watched the babies for me for 30 minutes while I jogged.  I was both esctatic to run and terrified of leaving them alone (with my perfectly capable friends).  But the trial run (pun intended, hehe) went great and I felt both refreshed and energized at the wonderful chance to run, something that has become a rare treat since the babies arrived.  This is a bit cruel, as now that I am finally able to run again (I was banned from running most of my pregnancy due to my high-risk pregnancy), I am now alone with the babies most days and by the time my husband gets home,...

These are based off another fantastic recipe that will make its way up here soon from my old blog...and I can't decide which one is better.  I love the light maple flavor and the creamy top layer texture contrasted with the cookie dough bar below.  I suggest making this when you have company and are not home alone, or somehow, you'll find yourself eating these for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Not that anyone with two newborn babies alone in a house all day would do that, right??

Luckily for me I had help devouring these, and from three people who are decidely NOT vegan or gluten-free, yet they love...

These fab gluten-free vegan nut-free treats can be made in about 10 minutes and enjoyed immediately. This is a huge plus if you're in a time crunch but want a little treat or boost of energy.  All you have to do is stir up a batch and enjoy!  I made these a week or so ago after being up since 2 am pumping milk and feeding two little babies.  I then had the energy to walk for an hour with two wee ones attached to me.  When I can run again in a few weeks (I CANNOT WAIT!)  I'll have to report back if they make a great treat to take along on a long run.  I find myself fantasizing about long runs constantly......
